Welcome to the Voodoo Tour, our newest tour exploring the origins of the secretive Voodoo. This is the ONLY tour led by an actual Voodoo Priest! Discover the mysteries and secrets behind one of the most misunderstood religions in existence… What exactly is Voodoo? Is it just stabbing pins in dolls to hurt your enemies? Is it Black Magic? Is it real? Who was the shadowy and infamous Marie Laveau? What is the Ancestor Tree? What’s the difference between hoodoo and Voodoo?! We’ll answer all of this and more as we visit Congo Square and other landmarks.
Follow in the footsteps of the ancestors as we travel back in the past to find out what authentic Voodoo actually is and how it has impacted the city of New Orleans! On our Voodoo Tour, you will learn the ins and outs of this culture and, most importantly, you will learn tools to determine the truth about a religion shrouded in the unknown. You’ll hear about the role that slavery and Voodoo played in building New Orleans’ culture, the Catholic Church influence and even witness a mock ritual.
Join us on a Voodoo Tour to learn more about the practices and beliefs that played a huge part in shaping our city–and still do today. Whether you leave a believer or not, you will never forget the fascinating history of Voodoo and The Big Easy!

Each and every Jonathan Weiss tour strives to entertain, educate and leave you wanting more of New Orleans and her French Quarter. Our Voodoo Tour begins in the French Quarter and our guides will navigate the streets while telling you the stories that make our city great. We will stand in the exact spots where history happened while we discuss voodoo’s impact on New Orleans. You will be intrigued, thrilled and maybe even uncomfortable with some of the chronicles of the Crescent City.
Our guides’ passion and collective knowledge of the city brings an expertise to each of our tours; we encourage you to ask questions and become as excited about New Orleans history as we are! We are first and foremost historians of this great city and are proud to tell you about her saints, sinners, triumphs and travesties.
New Orleans is an open container city, meaning you can bring your drinks along for the entirety of the Voodoo Tour! We suggest you bring a camera and snap photos along the way–you never know who or what might make an appearance! Don’t forget to bring plenty of curiosity, an open mind and comfortable shoes! We can’t wait to share our love of The Big Easy with you! See you in the Quarter for your Voodoo Tour…
